Top Five Romantic Gifts for Your Husband

380 Romantic Gifts For Him ideas in 2021 | romantic gifts for him, romantic gifts, boyfriend gifts

Now that the New Year is here, the next big day to plan for is the most romantic one of all. That is right, it is time for Valentine’s Day again. Rather you are a newlywed or an experienced wife, finding a unique and romantic special gift for lover could be difficult. Within this article lies several options for the perfect romantic gift for the most romantic day of the year!

While Valentine’s Day means different things to women and men, it is important to realize that while women love “cutesy” items, cards, candies, and flowers; men would prefer electronics and gadgets.

A great option for any man might be a watch. A watch is a practical gift, but is also one that will cause your man to think of you every time he glances at his wrist.

If you want something a bit more romantic, maybe a planned stay at a bed and breakfast would be a possibility.

Have a romantic night away from home, leave the kids with the babysitter, and let them cater to your breakfast needs in the morning. Turn off cell phones, and just enjoy each other without any outside interference.

Another idea would also be something the two of you could do together. Purchasing a one hour session with a masseuse would be a good gift. Allow him to relax after a week of hard work, while you yourself get some pampering also. A joint session would benefit the two of you separately, all the while allowing quiet time together.

A very personal gift for your husband might be new night ware for him and her. Heart covered nighties and coordinating boxers would be a fun gift option for the young, or the young at heart.

If your man is into electric gadgets and the latest electronics, then the way to go might very well be just that. A new edition phone, PDA, or IPod might be the gift to his heart this year. Maybe a portable DVD player, a Wii Nintendo system, or X Box. These game consoles would offer him hours of video game fun.

While every man is different, these are just a few options in wide variety of gifts to choose from. Whatever the gift chosen for him, he will be pleased with it, simply because he knows the love that comes with it. Make this Valentine’s Day one he won’t soon forget.…

Does the Apple Stock Price No Longer Matter?

Apple Stock Price Prediction For 2021 And Beyond | Trading Education

Financing

Not too long ago Apple was the bell weather for the overall stock market. If Apple had a subpar earnings report we were “headed into a recession.” If Apple exceeded earnings estimates on the top and bottom line the entire tech sector was higher by 2% or more the next day. That no longer seems to be the case. There has been a disconnect with the health of the overall market and the stock price of Apple. Back in April of 2012 I asked the question “Has Apple Peaked?” That might have been an early prediction as Apple peaked in mid September around $700 a share. Since then, it has been all down hill.

Apple Stock No Longer Leading the Market

For much of the recovery from the “Great Recession” Apple lead the way. It seemed almost every single earnings report was a work of art. There were many earnings reports that pushed Apple up 7% and 8% after hours. The iPhone was selling better than ever and the iPad was going to revolutionize the way we consumed content on the Internet. That was all find and dandy until a few competitors came along – namely Android.

In September 2012 Apple reached $700 a share and some analysts were predicting $1000 in the near future. I was skeptical. I have repeatedly said that Apple would struggle without the guidance of Steve Jobs. That seems to be the case today. Since hitting $700 Apple is down about 38% to $430 a share. In that same time frame the Dow Jones Industrial Average is up just over 9%. Even the tech heavy NASDAQ is up over 3%. This is a clear indicator that Apple is no longer leading the way.

Where Does Apple Stock Go From Here?

This is a tough question to answer. I think most people can agree that there is not nearly as much excitement about new Apple products being released. In fact, there have been talks that the only real innovation of the iPhone 5s will be the different colored models. At one point there is only so much you can do with a smartphone. Tablet sales have been good but the number of Android tablets on the market have hurt the total sales of iPads. Add to that the eReader expansion into tablets and the iPad really has a battle on their hands. Especially when it comes to the price point.

If Apple is counting on iPhone sales to drive revenue I think there is more downside potential for this stock. I have no idea how low but iPhones are simply not selling the way they did in the past. That said, the stock is down 38% so how much further can it drop? No matter how much I dislike the closed Apple ecosystem there will always be individuals who want to purchase a smartphone that is easy to use. I cannot argue that an iPhone is ready for use straight out of the box. The learning curve is not nearly as bad as it is with a newer model Android phone.

Conclusion

For the first time in several years the Apple stock does not matter to the overall market. This stock price does matter to any shareholders or employees of the company. It will be interesting to see what retail company takes hold of the market and starts to lead the way. That may be Google, Amazon or even Facebook (I highly doubt it!) but only time will tell. Do you think that the Apple stock can recover? Is $700 a share possible sometime in 2013 or 2014?…

How to Get an iPhone 5 Under $100 at Sprint

If you are looking for the best online and in store sales and deals there will be updates throughout the day every single day: Wojdylo Sales & Deals.

After posting that Sprint was offering $25 off an iPhone 5 at Best Buy to my Google+ account Jason Boslow mentioned that his wife recently got an iPhone 5 for $96. Getting an iPhone 5 for under $100 is something that most people would die for. After asking how she did it I began to understand that a lot of it has to do with what you have to trade in. The trade in value of old iPhone models is much better than Android models which should not come as a huge surprise. Here is what she did.

// ]]>

How to Get an iPhone 5 for Under $100 at Sprint

As mentioned early, Jason Boslow mentioned his wife got her iPhone 5 for $96 in Stonebriar Mall in Frisco, Texas just this past week. When asking how she got this price this was his response:

I just asked my wife…didn’t realize she had an Iphone 4S that a friend gave her. She was able to use that as a trade. They gave her $80 for the trade on the 4S and $15 trade for her old EVO she said. She also had to sign another 2 year agreement and received credit for the upgrade $150. I didn’t realize she had a 4S she used as a trade. That explains the cheap price.

This is very interesting as I tend to not trade in phones when making a new purchase. In fact, I still have an iPhone 3GS and a Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket sitting on my counter. I am using a Google Nexus 4 which I purchased online. It is important to note that the Google Nexus 4 is a non contract phone. I made the purchase for $299.99 and I could take it to any provider and get it activated without a two year commitment. This is huge to me.

I may very well check out the iPhone 5S when it comes out solely because I want to test the features. I am on AT&T and my two year contract has been up for quite some time. When I purchased my Nexus 4 in February of 2013 I knew that it would not affect my two year contract. This is just something to think about when going to Sprint to get that iPhone 5 for under $100.

AT&T, Verizon, TMobile and Sprint Offer iPhone Prices

When making an iPhone purchase remember there are still plenty of options available. The iPhone 4 will be free with a two year contract and the iPhone 4S will be around $100 without any rebates or offers. The iPhone 5 is going to be around $200. This is why so many people are looking for the iPhone 5 under $100. To get the iPhone 5 for below the cost of the iPhone 4S is truly a feat. If you have any old smartphones laying around your house or apartment you may want to consider bringing them in and seeing how much you can get at your provider.

// ]]>

When I got my Nexus 4 activated the AT&T store offered me $50 for the Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket. This was a few months ago so I am not certain how much it would be worth today. I did not trade it in as I still do some videos with that particular phone. Jason mentioned that the iPhone models seem to hold their value much more than Android models. This makes sense as the iPhones have a much stronger demand. Supply and demand determines the price on any product. As the demand stays strong for iPhones most of the past models will be quite valuable.

I will admit that I love the Android operating system but I do see where it can be difficult to learn for users who simply want to turn their phone on and throw birds into pigs. The latest Android operating system, Jelly Bean 4.2.2, has a ton of awesome features but you sometimes have to play around to see what opportunities are available. The camera has so many options I cannot even explain them. Those that might want to simply click and shoot may not want all these features like HDR and Snapseed filters. Keep this in mind when making an Android or iPhone purchase in April 2013 or beyond.

Also look up the specs and read the reviews for these smartphones. I wil give you a word of warning. If you do not get a pure Google phone you may get some bloatware on your Android. Some of these providers slap Verizon or AT&T apps on the smartphone before you make the purchase. Unless you are very in tune with all of this type of stuff you may never know that your Droid is running these apps which will be draining your battery and data.…

Perspective is Very Important When Offering Any Advice

If you are interested in Google+, Twitter or social media in general please check out all of my related articles here: Wojdylo Social Media.

This is an article I have been meaning to write for quite some time. It is a topic that is near and dear to my heart as it has helped to determine my successes and my failures. One word. Perspective. We have all seen different things with our two or, in my case, four eyes. My experiences over the last half decade have shaped my opinions on social media, SEO and life in general. What I have seen and experienced is completely different from anyone else who has generated income online. That said, the information I provide on this website is not factual, it is opinion based with an interesting perspective.

Yes, I Am a Bit Extreme

In graduate school I learned quickly that being extreme on one side or the other is much easier to market than sitting on the fence. There is a reason Rush Limbaugh and Howard Stern can name their price to advertisers. Someone who does not have a strong opinion one way or the other is simply not as interesting to the public. There is a reason for everything I do when it comes to social media. Am I really a Google fanboy. Well, maybe. Google is my main revenue generator so I have to tout them a little bit, right?

If you have followed my Google+ posts or the articles on this website you know that I am very pro Google and anti Apple and Facebook. Once again, there is a reason for this. Not only do my readers enjoy this sentiment but I have been through quite a few graduate school classes and experiences that help me shape my opinion that Google will come out on top. Will it happen tomorrow? No way. Will it happen next year? Highly unlikely. That said, readers like predictions and I see the writing on the wall.

SEO and Social Media – Nothing is Set in Stone

Do I offer advice on SEO and social media? Absolutely. Should you take everything as black and white? Absolutely not. My goal with this website is to offer a first hand perspective from an independent Internet Marketer who has learned everything from trial and error. I read and educate myself on as many topics as possible but it ultimately comes down to trying something and seeing what works.

My goal is not to be the SEO consultant for WalMart, Best Buy or Time Warner Cable. My goal is to help my readers look at things in a different way. From personal experience and using perspective I have seen that quality content of length and social media are a great way to get started when it comes to building a strong website. Is this the only way to build a website that gets traffic? Absolutely not. I am certain that if you had a budget of $500,000 you could get plenty of web traffic in other ways. I do not do it this way.

If you read this website for social media and SEO advice please accept that this is solely the opinion of one guy sitting in Chapel Hill, NC enjoying life. I don’t have all the answers. In fact, I am probably wrong most of the time. I know I have been wrong a ton in the past with the algorithm updates. After learning from my mistakes I feel as if I have a much better grasp as to what it takes to start a website from scratch in 2013. In less than four months I have achieved over 1000 daily visitors for this website so I have had some success.

Does this mean I am an expert or a guru? Nope. In fact, I am certain there are plenty of other people out there that have built websites with twice the traffic in half the time. My goal is to steadily build organic search traffic along with social media traffic. I will never be the go to source for everyone. If you market products on Facebook you will probably disagree with many of my predictions. If you use all Apple products and you own stock in AAPL you probably don’t read Wojdylo Finance.

I have no desire to be everything to everyone. There are quite a few people out there that agree with me and even more that disagree. That is fine. This is a learning process and I am having a great time doing it. Whether you agree or disagree with my SEO and social media predictions is up to you but please do not take me as a credible source. There are companies that you can pay well over $1000 a month to get that information. Look at this website from my perspective and understand how and why I use it.…

No, You Absolutely Cannot Blog for a Living

Many people ask me, can I blog for a living? Almost every single time my answer is, “absolutely not!” The only way you can blog for a living is if you can eat, breathe and sleep blogging, Google, social media and the Internet in general. Unless you can devote well over 60 hours a week to building a blog or website I would say that you better stick to your day job. There is nothing wrong with creating a little bit of side income through blogging but do not expect it to be your full source of income. But Jesse, how do you do it?

Blogging for a Living Takes Time

Lets get something straight very early in this content. I have been actively researching and digesting all the updates to the Google algorithm for over five years. If you don’t understand the terms crawled, indexed, cached, QDF, linked, queries or sitemaps you have a lot to learn. If you aren’t well versed in analytics, adsense (other advertising options), affiliate marketing, or webmaster tools you have even more to learn. This takes a lot of time and effort. In fact, it takes several months just to start the process of understanding how to create amazing contant and track it.

I would imagine it takes well over 400 hours just to grasp some of the basic concepts of blogging and that doesn’t even begin to include how social media has changed SEO forever. If you want to spend a couple of hours a day on a blog you simply cannot resort on blogging as your sole form of revenue. In fact, some of the more influential bloggers I know are happy to make $10 or $20 a day. These are individuals who get 1000s of daily visitors and they have been doing it for years.

Can a Blog Make Money on Day 1?

No. Absolutely not. Unless you already have an Internet presence elsewhere there is no way you can make money on Day 1. You might set up Google Adsense and get lucky with a few clicks that make a few bucks but there is no way you can create sustainable income from day 1. That said, if you know many in the business and you have built strong relationships you stand a much better chance to make money early in your blogging career.

I will be the first to admit, I will not link to your content unless it is simply amazing. Until you have build some authority and you have knowledge of a specific subject you are not going to create quality content. The ultimate goal with blogging is to build authority and much of that comes through link building. You cannot start a sports blog on Saturday and expect to see Sports Illustrated and ESPN link to you by Monday. In fact, you cannot even expect that in the first year!

How Long Does it Take to Make Money on a Blog?

If you are willing to live, breath, eat and sleep on the Internet you will likely be able to start making some money by the second month of a blog. By some money we are talking about $50 to $100. This is greatly dependent on your form of revenue. Blogs make money in different ways whether it be through affiliate marketing, advertising, email lists or membership sites. No matter how you generate income on your website you cannot expect to be making thousands by month #2.

If you want to create sustainable income through your blog I would suggest preparing for a six month journey; at least! This is why I titled this article, “No, You Absolutely Cannot Blog for a Living!” Most people do not have six months to create a stream of revenue. There are many extenuating circumstances that make this impossible. If you have any responsibilities at home such as children or a significant other they deserve your time. If you have bills to pay that deserves your money. I could go on and on.

Conclusion

Unless you have six months to devote 60 hours a week to blogging and social media I would not plan on creating a website that is going to make a substantial amount of money. If you have this time, feel free to contact me and we will talk about a content creation strategy. If you are unwilling to write multiple articles a day or create multiple YouTube videos you are going to have a very difficult time building authority. Keep this in mind before starting your online adventure.…

Home Depot July 4th Sales and Deals

Please join the Google+ Shopping Sales and Deals community to get up to the second prices.

One of the most popular holiday shopping weekends in the summer is the weekend of July 4th. In 2013, Independence Day will fall on a Thursday which means many hard working Americans will take a four day weekend. Some will travel to the beach or mountains while others look for the most popular holiday sales and deals. Some will seek out Home Depot July 4th sales and deals in 2013 in hopes of getting low prices on a new lawn mower, appliance or some outdoor patio furniture. Before making a final purchase decision remember to check out the competition.

Home Depot July 4th Sales and Deals 2013

When looking for the absolute lowest prices of the summer it is hard to argue that July 4th offers some great opportunities. Whether you are buying a washer & dryer, paint, a brand new push mower or lawn and garden items there will be markdowns throughout the United States. Remember that Lowes July 4th sales will be impressive but shoppers should also consider Home Depot, Sears and WalMart. By checking out the competition most potential shoppers will be able to better gauge how much they are going to spend during the holiday weekend.

Appliances are a very high priced purchase. This big ticket item type is usually only purchased once every few years. With that being the case, it is smart to research and see if there are any sales available. During holiday events retailers like Best Buy, HHGregg, Costco, Lowes and Sears offer mark downs for major kitchen and laundry appliances. Remember that not every retailer will carry the same brands. The Kenmore appliance line is exclusive to Sears and KMart. There are a few other brands that you may only be able to find at your local appliance store.

There are thousands of local appliance stores throughout the United States. By using Google Maps or a search directory you can find just how close these stores are. It never hurts to give them a call and see if they will be offering some type of major July 4th sales event. You may find that they are willing to throw in some incentives if you are willing to finance through them as well. Always check the interest rate on the financing before moving forward with a purchase.

Shopping on July 4th Weekend in 2013

When going shopping on any holiday weekend it is a good idea to come up with a strategy. Check out the parking situations at the local shopping malls and outlet malls. This will allow you to better understand if you need to car pool or not. It might even be worth it to take the bus or train to some of these shopping locations. If you do not plan ahead you could be driving around for hours looking for a place to park. This is not a good way to start a shopping experience.

You may also want to consider looking at some of the online sales and deals that will be taking place. There are a ton of great websites that offer hourly sales during major holiday events. Think about this before heading out and fighting the crowd. It is now the case that some of these online retailers are willing to offer free shipping as well. If you can get free or low cost shipping there is no reason to fight the mayhem that will be going on at shopping malls and retail locations throughout the United States.…

How JC Kendall Changed My Life

It is nearly impossible for me to come up with words right now. JC Kendall was a man of great influence on my life. I just found out that he has passed. I think this is a shock to everyone that knew him. His fiancé Su Ann Lim was so meaningful to JC that he had changed his life for the better. He was eating more healthy, taking up yoga and just relaxing a bit. I saw these transformations through my daily and weekly moments with him. To honor JC I feel as if I should explain what he has done for me.

JC Kendall – A Man of Honesty

I will never forget having a Google+ hangout with Ronnie Bincer in May of 2012 to talk about how Google+ is changing the way we meet influencers. He mentioned that I should get in touch with JC Kendall as we would have a lot to talk about. For about a month I commented on his posts but never took the initative to have a hangout with him. On June 24th, 2012 JC shared my Google Plus Your Business eBook to his following. At the time, JC had 20 times the followers as I. After that mention I made it a point to do a hangout with JC.

Over the course of the next year we had many public and private hangouts. I was fortunate enough to be part of the TekPersona Power Panel. JC, Eli Fennell, Mark Traphagen and myself had many discussions on the Facebook business model. He was one of the brightest and most honest users on Google Plus. More than that, he was real. There was never a moment in which you had to worry about JC glossing over something in which he was passionate.

Anyone who took part in some of JC’s discussions knows that he was sometimes over the top. That is one of the reasons we got along so well. We both agreed, many times, that he was more than just a big brother to me. In a time when everyone has unique opinions about social media, Google, Facebook and everything technology related I can say that I never once had a disagreement with JC Kendall.

JC Kendall Changed My Career

In October and November of 2012 JC was one of the main reasons I decided to create Wojdylo Finance. He pointed out many mainstream news outlets that were copying my content from Google+. He was so adamant about me starting my own website that he gave me the WordPress theme for Wojdylo Finance. In many one on one discussions he helped me to realize the ways to monetize an online presence through branding. Sometimes it hurt to hear what he had to say but it made me a better blogger and content creator.

Just last month JC and I were talking about bringing back the TekPersona Power Panel to talk about some of the more important issues in social media. Even though there are tears running down my cheeks right now I have to smile thinking about all the times we blasted Facebook and they way they run their business model. I know many of you do not have a lot of time but please watch just a few minutes of this video hosted by JC.

As I said at the beginning of this article, words cannot even begin to describe how I feel right now. JC was a mentor and a great friend. When I look back on my career as a content creator, blogger and Internet Marketer JC will be one of those that comes to mind first. My heart goes out to Su Ann. Google+ will not be the same without JC. I will not be the same without JC and the world will not be the same without JC. If you do anything today please tell your loved ones how you feel and, like JC, be complete honest.…

Why Travel is So Very Important for Creativity

At this point my constant readers know that creativity is necessary when it comes to any type of marketing. This is especially true with Internet Marketing. Most of the ideas content creators….well, create, have been tried and tried again. Only the most creative will do something that is truly unique and viral. One way that I like to get the creative juices flowing is to put myself in an unusual environment. When my eyes see a different surrounding it’s as if the brain starts to jump all over the map.

Creativity Takes Effort

I am not a scientist. In fact, I made a C+ in Chemistry 101 at NC State. Yes, I will emphasize the plus because that helped to keep my GPA over 3.0. That is another story for another time. Not being a scientist makes it difficult to understand how this “thing” inside my skull works. The only research I have is experience. I do not have a ton of it but I have enough to get by. In the last five years of creating internet content I can say that my best ideas have come while out of my comfort zone.

One of the most enjoyable parts of travel is getting to see the difficult culture(s) in towns and cities. I am currently in Tampa, Florida for the first time in my life. The professional hockey team here is the Tampa Bay Lightning. After being in this location for only 48 hours I completely understand why they were coined the lightning. There have been about four storms in two days. The lightning is simply amazing. I would have never had this knowledge had I not decided to travel for the July 4th holiday.

I also enjoy seeing the layout of cities and towns. Dale Mabry Highway is the main thoroughfare through south Tampa. I am a sucker for history so I did the research on Dale Mabry. He was from Tallahassee but has military connections to Tampa hence the reason for the highway being named after him. Once again, this is something I would have never known had I not visited my brother in Tampa.

Different Perspectives Create Amazing Ideas

Over the next few days I will be spending time with my older brother and older sister. We will also have the joy of keeping up with the hyper active little one that was created by said sister. All of these individuals are very bright and great at their jobs. Even the young ‘in. He is amazing at being a five year old. Quite the professional. We all work in very different industries. This allows us to bounce ideas off each other that will be unique to our line of work. This is invaluable!

Where else can I get a high ranking government official, a doctor of pharmacy and an internet marketer in one room to just talk? We all grew up in the same household so we have some similarities but we have had much different adult lives. This is something I notice every time I get together with my family. I tend to just soak it all in but this time I might jot down some notes on my Google Keep app on the Nexus 4.

We will be traveling to Kennedy Space Center, Busch Gardens and Adventure Island with the little rascal. I am certain my eyes will be taking in some very unusual sights during this fiasco. As a creative mind, this is gold Jerry. I cannot even begin to tell you how many article or video ideas I will create from a two hour experience eating lunch at Busch Gardens. Stay tuned to The Wojdylo Show to hear all about this.

If you are stuck or having trouble coming up with ideas for your business or website, take a trip! Travel is always good for the mind and soul. You will see things from a different perspective which will give you plenty of content. This can be used when you return home or during some down time when it is raining during the vacation (like now!).…

All Good Things Must Come to an End

This is the seventh edition of Wednesdays with Dorrie. To read more of this column make sure to bookmark this link: Wednesdays with Dorrie.

Weird. That is the only adjective I can come up with to describe how I feel about Dorrie Prouty no longer being in my life. It may not be the most eloquent description, but it is exactly how I feel right now. It is almost hard to believe how much this amazing woman has changed my life in six months and now its over. Here is how it all came to an end.

The End is Here

I entered the retirement community like any other day last Friday and I went to the second floor. As I approached Dorrie’s apartment/room I noticed the door was close. I asked the nurse if I could go in and she said it was fine. Upon entering Dorrie’s room I quickly noticed a woman I had never seen before. She introduced herself as Dorrie’s daughter. The nurse introduced me as “Jesse, Dorrie’s volunteer.” The moment Dorrie’s daughter looked me in the eyes I knew. I absolutely knew what it meant. I look down and Dorrie and asked her how she was. Her response, “Oh, not so well.” It was a very awkward moment as Dorrie did not even recognize me and I am certain her daughter was thinking, who is this guy? After a brief conversation about Dorrie’s granddaughter going to Wake Forest I explained that I was not feeling well and I would see Dorrie on Monday.

As I exited the retirement community last Friday I honestly thought it was the last time I would ever see Dorrie alive. I was almost expecting the phone call all weekend but it did not happen. On Monday, April 1st, 2013, exactly six afterI met Dorrie for the first time I entered the facility to spend time with Dorrie. As I got on the elevator I just had that feeling that things were not right. I think we have all had that feeling at one time in our lives. As I walked over to Dorrie’s apartment my eyes had to endure one of the worst sights I had ever seen.

I looked in Dorrie’s room and everything had been removed except her bed and a large fan. I did not want to go in without talking to the nurse. I found Delores and asked her if I could go in. She said, “I am not sure but Jesse.” She simply gave the thumbs down motion. I tried to remain as strong as possible and I said, “I know.” We sat for a few minutes and talked. She explained the Dorrie’s daughter left on Friday and she was not going to return until Dorrie passed. Dorrie’s son from Virginia had come down over the weekend and cleaned out the room.

To change the subject we just talked about life. I know she was doing her best to keep my mind off the inevitable. After talking for about 20 minutes Delores had to help some other residents. She said I could go in and see her but she likely would not recognize me. At 11:20 am on April 1st, 2013 I entered room 4211 for the final time. I looked down at Dorrie who was struggling in every sense of the word. These were her last precious seconds of the 88 years of her life. I spoke a little louder than usual and I said, “Hello Dorrie.” For a brief moment that wandering, beautiful blue eyes looked up at me. I know, deep down, that she recognized me for those brief moments. I looked deep into those eyes and I said, “Dorrie, I love you.” I saw her close her eyes for the final time and I kiss her forehead.

I have not received the final phone call telling me she has passed but everyone has agreed there is no reason for me to return to volunteer with her. I have grown so accustomed to getting up every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning and volunteering with Dorrie from 10:00 to noon. I have requested another resident to work with during the same time each week and the volunteer coordinator has said she will find something that works out. One thing is for certain. There will never be another Dorrie Prouty. When I walk by room 4211 there will be only one way to describe it. Weird.

Dorrie Prouty proved so many things to me but I think the most important thing I have realized with this volunteer experience is that time brings out the best (and worst) in people. Coming from a guy that loves to rush everything, I now realize that it takes patience to get what you want in life. I seriously doubt I will every start a serious romantic relationship in my life without know that particular female for, you got it, six months. The amount of time I got to spend with Dorrie Prouty.…

A Change of Scenery is Very Effective for Enhanced Creativity

Does a change of scenery boost your creativity? – Write Now!

Just the other day I mentioned that I rarely, if ever, get writer’s block. I honestly feel that one of the reasons for this is I am afforded a change of scenery whenever I desire. This is not available to most as they have a specific workplace environment. My workplace environment changes on a daily basis. I have worked from Hawaii, San Diego, Las Vegas, Houston, Raleigh and now Chapel Hill all in the last few years. I would like to think that this has been quite the change of scenery that allows my creative juices to flow.

A Change of Scenery is Very Important to Creativity

Many hard working individuals get into a routine. They get up at the same time. They take the same route oo the way to work. Their lunch break is around the same time. They leave the workplace around 5:00 and take that same route back home. Dinner is served at a similar time every weeknight. After dinner they read a book, the newspaper or watch a little TV. As the day winds down they prepare to do the exact same thing tomorrow. Fortunately, I do not live that life.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with consistency and coming up with a routine that works for you. I find that when I get into the same routine for more than a few weeks I hit a wall. I can no longer think outside the box and my creativity is shot. This is exactly what I do not want as creative content is a big part of my success. Every single day I take a walk on a different trail. Every day I do my best to adjust my schedule so it is not similar to yesterday. Once again, I am very fortunate to have these options.

If you want to enhance your creativity I strongly suggest trying something a little bit different in the next week. Take a different route to work. Instead of eating at the same restaurant try something different. If you are a baseball fan in the spring consider going to a tennis match. If you read fiction pick up a non fiction book. You will be very surprised how your brain reacts to something a little bit different. If you do this on a consistent basis you will really great the creative juices flowing.

Creative Content Generation is Not for Everyone

There are many jobs that do not require creative content. In fact, most jobs do not. Individuals working in Internet marketing, SEO or social media must be creative to succeed. If individuals are not creative on the Internet they are going to get run over. Trust me when I tell you that I have seen this time and again. You do not have to be the lead marketing director for Apple to be considered a creative mind but it does take a little bit of thinking outside the box every once in awhile.

Some of the most creative content producers use multiple resources. YouTube is amazing for video. Most importantly, it is free. Pinterest, Instagram, 500 px and countless other websites are amazing for pictures. Most of these options are free. Google+, Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook are some of the best social products ever created. They are all free. Well, we could argue that Facebook is not but we won’t go down that road in this article. Coming up with a way to use video, pictures and the written word consistently might be just what it takes to bring your Internet presence to a new level. By using different sources for content creation you are automatically creating a change of scenery for yourself and your followers, viewers or readers.

Change Things Up to Enhance Your Creativity

Prior to writing this article I must admit that I had hit a wall physically. My body was not happy with my mind as I have done a little too much Crossfit lately. I honestly did not know if I had the energy to type this piece of content. After taking a walk into a different neighborhood I felt reenergized. I also played a YouTube song that I have not heard in years and I felt completely different. A little bit of a change in scenery goes a very long way.

I strongly suggest trying a few different things. Get those old CDs out from the 1990s. Watch some of those old Seinfeld episodes. Pull out the high school yearbook and see what superlatives you received. All of this will get your brain moving in several different directions. Before you know it you will have ideas for 20 new articles and videos. Now you just have to find the time to do them!…
